Mr. Christopher Herrera

Madla Elementary Assistant Principal

Greetings Gators! My name is Christopher Herrera and I’m excited to serve as your Assistant Principal! I originally from Flatonia, TX, but have been a proud resident of San Antonio since 2017. Upon graduating high school I moved to San Marcos, TX where I attended Texas State University majoring in Psychology. After that I moved to Austin, TX and began my teaching career there. During my time in Austin I got a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas and after finishing up my 5th year in the classroom I made the move to San Antonio. I taught for 3 additional years and then began working on my Master of Education degree from Trinity University and began working as a school administrator.

As I enter my 14th year in education, I’m appreciative of the many lessons I’ve learned and I’m grateful for the many opportunities to grow and develop into the leader I am today. As a first generation high school and college graduate, I place a high value on education and I firmly believe that a quality education is the key to long-term success. I value strong, collaborative partnerships with those that I serve and I look forward to working with the Frank Madla community to provide the best possible education for our students so that they are well-equipped to be successful while they progress through our schools and beyond.

I cannot wait to meet you all and I’m excited to continue learning and growing alongside you all while helping our Gators reach their full potential. I’ll see you around the campus!
